Kylie Wilson,

At the recent Sydney Fleet AGM, Richard Hammond, Roger Gain and David Seaton stepped down from their positions as Fleet Captain, Secretary and Treasurer, respectively. This was after five years of service, having done a great job inclusive of the organisation of the 2012 Worlds, and leaving the fleet in great shape in all respects. Thanks Gents!

The new committee sees Mick O'Brien and Paul Thackray join, and the focus for the season ahead is all about offering a strong racing program that appeals to the existing members, but critically looks outside the class to attract new owners and crew.

At this stage, with the program almost complete and with more than 30 boats expected to enter our season pointscore, we are looking at more than 30 race days. There will be a mix of long-course club races, and shorter format mini-regatta events, plus two major regattas.

We'll also be continuing with the successful series of technical and rules information sessions, and a couple of dinners and social functions.

Two key events for those outside the Sydney fleet to note, are the annual Milson's Silver Goblets, which will be conducted on the Harbour in early February, and then the Sydney Regatta, which will be conducted on the same offshore courses as the 2012 World Championship over the weekend of 4 and 5 March.

Details will be posted on the website in due course, but if you are thinking of coming, big fleet quality racing is guaranteed, as well as the hospitality of the Sydney Fleet and RSYS!

Finally, good luck to the Sydney Fleet teams headed to Cowes, lead by JC Strong, Shane Guanaria and Doug Flynn.
