Kylie Wilson,

Enjoy racing your Etchells in Broken Bay this November and January. The Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club (RPAYC) at Newport is hosting the NSW State Championship from November 24-27th 2016.

With terrific facilities, and an excellent reputation for hosting successful regattas, this is sure to be a great event. It’s also a perfect opportunity to get real championship experience on the same waters as the National Championship which will hosted by RPAYC January 10-15th.

The exceptional Ross and Kevin Wilson will be leading the race management team for the NSW Championships, and then Ross with Phil Collyer will be in charge of the 2017 Nationals. We’re expecting large Etchells fleets for both events, so there should be some amazing Etchells racing!

There are also some lead-in events planned with sailing on Broken Bay, as well as the Spring One-design Sports Boat Mini-regatta on Pittwater November 12 and 13th.

If you’re bringing partners/friends, there are some opportunities for them to become involved in the excitement of an Etchells Championship by volunteering - whether on or off the water. It’s a nice way for them to enjoy meeting other people whilst sharing your passion for Etchells.

If you (or your partners) have some extra time, we recommend a surf or stroll at the some of the beautiful and iconic beaches nearby - Palm Beach, Whale Beach, Avalon and Newport. Alternatively, perhaps they could consider relaxing at some of the many cafes or restaurants in the area, including RPAYC’s popular ‘Halyards’ café/restaurant overlooking Pittwater.

It’s a beautiful venue for a summer holiday - whether racing or relaxing.
