The Etchells Australasian Winter Championship event organisers have made some small, but still important changes to the regatta program that was published last week on

The event Technical Manager Warren Myles advised that in 2015 there will be seven races for the June 4th to 7th event. "We have changed the race schedule so that there is either three races on the Friday or three races on the Saturday and the usual two on the Sunday which is the final day. We haven't changed the scoring system so once five races have been finished the single race drop of the worst result comes into play."

"We have endeavoured to find a balance for the competitors who travel great distances who have requested more racing and still keeping the event open for all categories of sailors. The organising committee is always looking to fine tune and improve the event," Myles said.

The Mooloolaba Etchells Captain, Trevor Martin, added that in respect of the age of some of the skippers, the total proposed race number has been capped at seven, not eight as has been previously discussed.

The cost of entry is now $550 per boat whether there are three of four in the team. The early payment discount is being offered for those teams that pay their entry before May 8th.

The Online entry opens on March 9.

The technical team is being led by Ross and Kevin Wilson who will be assisted on the ground by Warren Myles and Suzanne Arms. The Event Manager is again Lyn Henderson in the Mooloolaba Yacht Club office.

Accommodation bookings can be made by contacting Newport Apartments on 07 5444 4833 or Freecall 1800 645 410. Newport Apartments is located next to the marina and regatta office, and importantly for some of the teams, it has a sauna.
