Kylie Wilson,

Once again the season featured intense one design racing with consistently large fleet numbers.

There were 30 entered for the Main Point-Score, with 33 entered in the Mini-Regatta Series. This was a very pleasing result, considering this was the season following on from hosting the 2012 Etchells World Championships.

Typically, on our Mini-Regatta days there were 25 vessels on the start line. Of the nine Mini-Regattas there were eight different daily winners, with Doug McGain's, Ciao, being the overall winner of the 27-race series. Umami and then Alchemist were second and third, respectively. Well done to Doug and his crew, who also won the Spring Point-Score, as well as winning the NSW State Championship.

The Summer Point-Score and Club Championship were won by, Umami - Matt Whitnall and Ant Elliot. The Main Point-Score was won by, Alchemist - Richard Hammond and Roger Gain.

There were a series of on-water coaching days run by Mike Fletcher, as well as several seminar evenings, both aimed at improving the skills of all fleet participants. The fleet put a lot of effort into raising the profile of the Milson Goblets, providing a hull cleaning service during the five-day regatta and the awarding of prizes at a dinner on the Friday night. The next Milson Goblets Series will be run from Monday, January 27 to Friday January 31, 2014. Please join us!

The season finished with an enjoyable social evening, at which the Mariner Boating Holidays prize for the Mini-Regatta Series was drawn - the trip to Croatia for the First 45 One Design Rally was won by Tony Brown from Yarrawa.

The coming season looks promising, with two or three new members joining the fleet, considerable interest from crew looking for regular racing opportunities, the continuation of coaching sessions, sponsorship once again of the Mini-Regatta Series by Mariner Boating Holidays and hopefully, the introduction of live tracking for use both during racing and review afterwards.
