The Brisbane Fleet has experienced more consistent numbers since the Xmas break and that trend looks like continuing for the rest of the season up until the Easter break.

This season has been a huge learning curve for a lot of our new members and I am sure those new guys in the Fleet will have learned a lot about the class by season's end. We all know it takes a lot to get the last ten percent out of these boats and I am sure this has become a reality for some however the enthusiasm to learn is still very evident in our Fleet.

The Fleet conducted a coaching clinic on a Saturday morning early in February. The morning targeted the intermediate level with experienced members sailing with the new guys to give some first-hand instruction on the water for the afternoon's racing. The Brisbane Fleet conducts two sprint races each Saturday afternoon with beats ranging from .8 to 1.2 nm.

With the success of the 'Come and Try' days during the winter of '09 the Fleet has plans to conduct two more C & T days during the winter break this year.

The Brisbane Fleet Championship is on the weekend of the 20 and 21 March with the Annual Fleet Dinner being held on the Friday night immediately prior to the event. This is an interesting concept as it turns the weekend into an endurance test for some if not most. We are expecting good numbers for the regatta.
