| World Championships Qualifying Event | 1-Sep-2008 |
| The Royal Brighton Yacht Club in Melbourne, will be hosting the 2009 Etchells World Championship, sponsored by Audi Australia. This event will be in March 2009. The Pittwater Etchells Fleet will hold its qualifying series over four Saturday race days. There are to be three races each day. Each boat will be able to drop three races, leaving their best nine races to be counted for the series.
